	Dennis W. Hackler Meet The Director The Public Works Director is Dennis W. Hackler. He was employed by the Town of Wytheville in 1984. Dennis worked in the construction industry for 15 years prior to his employment with the Town. Dennis has technician certificates in blasting, concrete, and paving. He attended Radford Community College. Dennis is an Associate Director of the Big Walker Soil and Conservation District. He is also a member of the Southwest Virginia Solid Waste Association. Responsibilities Public Works is responsible for solid waste collection and disposal, recycling, leaf collection, snow removal, street construction, street maintenance, signs, and signals, water, sewer, cemeteries, horticulture, and general properties maintenance.
