C. Wayne Sutherland, Jr. Responsibilities The Town of Wytheville employed Mr. C. Wayne Sutherland, Jr. on July 1, 1980, as the Assistant Town Manager. In January 1984 he was appointed by the Wytheville Town Council to the position of Town Manager. He is a graduate of VPI & SU. He also is a member of the International City/County Management Association, the Virginia Local Government Management Association and has served on various boards in these capacities. The Town Manager is a board member of the New River Regional Water Authority and the Crossroads Regional Industrial Facility Authority. He also serves as a liaison to the Joint Industrial Development Authority and the Wytheville Redevelopment and Housing Authority. The Town Manager is charged with the daily administration of the Town and the Town's facilities and infrastructure. He also serves as the Zoning Administrator for the Town. He is the supervisor of the Assistant Town Manager, Director of Administrative Services/Town Clerk, Director of Public Works, and Director of Public Safety. |
